Springbok residents hungry for land

Springbok, Northern Cape, June 26 2018 –  It’s been an uphill battle for a small Northern Cape community to claim land back.  Residents say they’re more than capable of working the land they live on, they just need access to it.  This is why they feel land expropriation without compensation must happen as soon as possible. eNCA’s Pheladi Sethusa reports.

 

Discussing Cape Town Airport’s name change

Cape Town, June 4 2018 –  A public meeting is being held to discuss the proposed name change of Cape Town International Airport. Nelson Mandela, Robert Sobukwe and Albertina Sisulu are other names being considered. Airports Company of South Africa, however, says suggestions are still being accepted. Cape Town International Airport is one of four airports that are going to be renamed as part of the Transformation of Heritage Landscape government programme. eNCA’s Pheladi Sethusa is attending the meeting and brings you the latest.

Get ready to pay more for South African wine

Cape Town, 9 May 2018 – Wine producers in the Western Cape have suffered a 200-thousand ton loss, as a result of the ongoing drought. This year’s harvest is the lowest in12 years. Industry experts say this is why consumer prices have to be increased. eNCA’s Pheladi Sethusa reports.

Earlier this year (19 January 2018), some in the industry was preparing for the worst as job cuts and a smaller than expected harvest predicted.
