Section 25 review: oral hearings continue in Parliament

Cape Town, September 5, 2018 – Oral presentations on the possible review of Section 25 of the Constitution are taking place in parliament. This is second phase of of the process following the conclusion of the public hearings. Reporter Pheladi Sethusa is on the story for us.

Northen Cape, June 26 2018 – Public hearings into land expropriation without compensation have started. It’s taking place in Limpopo and the Northern Cape and end in the Western Cape on the 4th of August. This will give people an opportunity to air their views on what’s become a contentious issue. It’s headed by Parliament’s joint constitutional review committee.

Land debate hearings begin in Northern Cape

Northern Cape, June 26 2018 – Public hearings into the amendment of Section 25 of the Constitution, looking at land expropriation without compensation starts today. Residents in Springbok in the Northern Cape say they’re more than capable of working the land they live on, they just need access to it.

Parliamentary work on land expropriation starts

Cape Town, 11 May 2018 – The parliamentary process for land expropriation without compensation, will start in earnest in mid-July. That’s when the window for public written submissions closes. The Constitutional Review Committee has now even pushed back their report back date, as their first mammoth task is sifting through thousands of submissions. eNCA’s Pheladi Sethusa reports.
